Ary Maudit

Ary Maudit is a London-based non-binary artist, producer, and sound engineer creating introspective punk-rock and alternative pop that pairs urgent melodies with candid, emotionally direct lyricism. Their music explores queer relationships, identity, and the realities of navigating creative life, blending the raw energy of punk rock with a reflective, detail-oriented approach to songwriting.

Before stepping forward with their current project, Ary spent years immersed in the UK’s independent punk and alternative scene. Since 2016, they have performed and toured across London and the UK, developing a strong DIY ethos and deep connection to community-driven music spaces. They independently released early material via Bandcamp and SoundCloud in 2019 and 2021, laying the foundations of their songwriting voice. A guitarist as well as a producer, Ary continues to integrate performance with their technical practice, bringing a live sensibility into their recorded work.

Parallel to their work as an artist, Ary has built a respected career as a sound engineer. They have worked at renowned recording facilities including RAK, Ten87, and Strongroom, contributing to projects with artists such as FKA twigs, Loyle Carner, Eland Cooper, Yungblud, and SAULT. In live settings, Ary has live mixed for acclaimed acts including Jasmine.4.t, Kae Tempest, Floating Points, Nell Mescal, and Sharon Van Etten, engineering at major festivals including Glastonbury, Reading, and Leeds. Their impact has been widely recognised, including being named one of IQ Magazine’s 20 worldwide pioneers reshaping the live business in 2024, and receiving an MPG nomination for Breakthrough Engineer of the Year in 2025.

This technical background informs a meticulous yet instinctive approach to songwriting and production, where sound design and arrangement are treated as integral parts of storytelling.

Alongside their creative and technical work, Ary is deeply committed to fostering equity and representation within the music industry. Since 2020, they have been a mentor with Saffron Music, and through guest lecturing at Abbey Road Institute and Guildhall School of Music, as well as teaching music production at SAE Institute. They are also the founder of Queers on Sound and Audio QoS, an initiative and company dedicated to inclusive audio solutions, accessibility, and safer creative spaces for queer and underrepresented artists.

Bringing together years of performance, engineering, and production experience, Ary’s artist project represents a deliberate creative evolution—energetic, emotionally charged, and rooted in both vulnerability and community.
